Who we are
This website is operated by Notch & Salt Press, a literary imprint based in Austin, Texas. The site presents the press's catalog and journal, and hosts the Inferior Noir archive store.
What we collect
Newsletter: your email address, and nothing else, when you subscribe.
Orders: when you purchase from the archive collection, we collect what fulfillment requires — name, shipping address, email, and payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment providers; we never see or store full card numbers.
Correspondence: whatever you choose to send through the contact form, and the email address you send it from.
How we use it
To fulfill orders, respond to inquiries, and — only if you've subscribed — send the newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Rights and press correspondence stays in confidence.
Cookies & analytics
This site runs on Shopify, which sets cookies necessary for cart, checkout, and basic site analytics. You can limit cookies in your browser and exercise opt-outs at Your Privacy Choices.
Who else touches the data
Shopify, Inc. (hosting, checkout, analytics), payment processors, our email service provider (newsletter delivery), and shipping carriers (delivery of physical orders) — each under its own privacy policy, and each receiving only what its role requires.
Retention
Order records are kept as long as commerce and tax law require. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Correspondence is kept as long as the conversation is live.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time via the contact form. Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights; we honor reasonable requests regardless of jurisdiction.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes affecting newsletter subscribers will be announced in the newsletter itself.
